Uprooting Racial Injustice: A Racial Reconciliation Workshop

Saturday, October 13th 9:00am-3:00pm

Gethsemane Episcopal Church: 111 E 9th St Marion, IN 46953

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry of the Episcopal Church of America has directed our national church to deal directly with issues of racism, as an essential  part of  “Becoming Beloved Community”.  The work of racial reconciliation has already been central to the mission of Gethsemane and our fellowship in the Cross of Nails. We look forward to deepening our self-examination around issues of race, leading to action.  Our time will focus on events in Grant County, from the lynching of two young Black men in 1930 to the recent resignation of a school board president. We will work to understand how racism plays into our lives and our community, and how we can deal with that in light of the Gospel.

*Lunch and childcare will be provided.
